The Lake District has grown in popularity after the region secured World Heritage status. For many tourists visiting Lake Windermere is a must due to its splendid scenery and relaxing countryside.
Laura Ashley, The Belsfield in Windermere is amongst the grandest Victorian Buildings on Lake Windermere. Built-in 1845 as a private residence for Baroness Von Sternberg. The house was acquired by the steel magnate Henry Schnieder in 1869 and converted into a hotel in 1892. In 2014, Laura Ashley purchased the Belsfield Hotel.

The Wild boar is a former coaching inn, named after the legend of Richard de Gilpin, who bravely fought a wild boar nearby. The individually designed rooms are all en suite and have a TV. Some rooms feature copper baths or log burners.
Full of character, the Grill and Smokehouse restaurant has a theatrical open kitchen, and serves locally-sourced produce. The Wild Boar also has a bar with real local ales, a wine cellar and an open fire.
Guests at The Wild Boar have free access to the nearby Low Wood Leisure Club, which features a gym, swimming pool and beauty salon. Windermere Golf Club is a short walk away.
